International Social Research

As an established partner in European social research, SORA is at the forefront of international expert debates and methodological innovation.

We bring the expertise from these publically funded projects to the applied research and to the consulting.

We pass on our knowledge and our experience through training programmes  and methodology consulting.

Selected projects

  • During the course of the EUYOUPART project (2003-2005) SORA, in cooperation with eight other European institutes, had drafted a model questionnaire that measures political involvement of young Europeans.
  • In 2006, at the invitation of the CRELL Centre for Research SORA had developed indicators for evaluating the Lisbon strategy of the EU in the area of “Active Citizenship”.
  • The Living Knowledge project (2009-2012) funded by the EU develops new methods of automated content retrieval. Search engines such as Google or Yahoo also find terms following this pattern. In future, new methods of data encoding will allow for diversity of opinions, assessments or other relevant connections also to be considered during data retrieval.
